What is Breathwork?

In the continuing search for stress reduction have come to light many alternative therapies that promise long-awaited relaxation, usually they work both body and mind. Today we will see a proposal that includes the respiratory system: what is the Holotropic Breathwork?

The approach presented in Holotropic breath comes from studies in transpersonal psychology and Eastern spiritual practices. This alternative therapy focuses on the exploration and healing with the principal ideal of “moving toward wholeness.”

The therapy is simply done: performing exercises that combine rapid breathing with special music in a relaxed atmosphere. Lying on a mat, each person adjusts his breathing to the sounds and try to get a non-ordinary state of consciousness.
