The Dangers of a Sedentary Job

People who work in an office we spend over 56 hours a week sitting by a completely sedentary life. This occurs in the office, when facing the computer, but also this is added the idle time in our home, watching TV or communicating over the Internet. Therefore, we sit in front of the monitor.

Today’s life is made not to leave home, because everything can be done through Internet. Therefore, we walked the few blocks to run errands at least we no longer walk more, further increasing our sedentary lifestyle.

A sedentary lifestyle brings diseases like obesity, diabetes, heart problems, bone problems, muscle pains due to poor posture, in addition to preventing proper digestion and affect vision. We reached the point of inactivity to run 30 minutes a day can not counteract the effects of this bad habit. So what do we do?

Of course we can not stop working, watching television, eating or sitting, but there are some tricks to at least not as harmful. In the office we take a break every hour, ten minutes to stretch your legs out and we managed to revive the movement. When we go back and let the car parked a little further away and walk a few extra blocks, especially before returning home after a day of inactivity.

In our home we can perform muscle stretching exercises such as yoga, pilates, and other disciplines for relaxation and exercise. It is also important to take a walk, at least 30 minutes, and stretch the legs, increases circulation, digestion and encourage you to increase the rate of metabolism.

It is advisable to make an exercise routine and balance that a lot of time in the day when our body is still. Some recommended sports are hiking, biking and swimming.

Every movement we make to get away from sedentary equals better quality of life, to feel good, and even to achieve a better work performance.
